Tell Me Who You Walk With, And I Will Tell You Who You Are!
God bless each and everyone. Many of us still remember many “old sayings” that we might’ve heard our parents or grandparents saying. Today I want to bring an old Puerto Rican saying in specific, I have chosen it as the heading of this blog as well. I goes: Tell me who you walk with, and I will tell you who you are... I’d like to start by saying that believe it or not, many “old sayings” originated from the scriptures of God. For example, this particular saying originated from the scripture written in (1 Corinthians 15:33) where Apostle Paul expresses to the Corinthians that bad company corrupts good character, ruins our foundations, our morals. Haven’t you noticed how sometimes we could be in company of nonbelievers, and all of a sudden they hit a point that we are convicted is wrong, so we don’t speak on it, but like it’s so true or a good subject and we can feel ourselves fighting our own mind and mouth? Or maybe you felt the impulse to say or do something you used to when around them but God is deep in your heart so you don’t? Well, it’s happened to me as well, and this is how we can see the word of God becoming true, right before out eyes. We can also see the same thing in the book written by the world’s wisest man, King Salomon, in the book of Proverbs 13:20, he says: “He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.” We see the same thing written by 2 completely different people in 2 way different times, but they were united by the same God, the true God. With this I exhort you all to abandon such gatherings, run away from such people, who pretend to be what they are not, because they only fool themselves. Also, run away from people that seek gossip, and let us remember what Core underwent when he decided to gossip against Moises, in (Numbers 16:31,32). God bless each and everyone.
Your Brother in Christ, Carlos C.
